On Saturday we had 27 students from CMS, CCHS and CECHS audition for the NC All District Band. Of the 27 who auditioned, 12 were selected to participate in the NC Eastern District All District Band. They will travel to Greenville on February 2nd and 3rd to rehearse with other students from the district. They will then perform a concert in Wright Auditorium on Saturday evening. This concert is free and open to the public.
Of the 12 district members, 5 of our students scored high enough to be eligible to audition for the NC All State Band in March. Both of these accomplishments are school records, and speaks so highly of the students work ethic to recover from the learning loss due to Covid and remote band.
NC Is composed of 7 districts across the state. The Eastern District comprises every school East of I-95 from the VA line to the Wilmington area. To say Rose and I are excited about these accomplishments would be an understatement. We are also so very appreciative of the support from the school system and county. We may be a small rural school, but the band experience here is on par with some of the best larger schools in the state.
When you see these students be sure to tell them congrats! This is a BIG accomplishment for them.
